Omar Sánchez (E33) and Carbon Art Win 2nd Place in the Canaries Wavesailing Championship 2017, Pozo
Carbon Art team rider and Pozo local Omar Sánchez showcased his fantastic wavesailing skills to make it to the final of the Canaries Wavesailing Championship 2017 in Pozo Izquierdo, and take out 2nd place for a spot on the podium. Carbon Art shaper James Dinnis couldn’t be happier with the result and is looking forward to seeing Omar pulling out more big moves in the upcoming PWA Pozo event.
The level of sailing at the Moreno twins’ Canaries Championship event was extremely high, as the top six place-getters all also compete on the PWA World Tour. Tricky light wind/small wave conditions meant choosing the right gear was a must, and Omar beat some tough competition to make it through the heats on his Carbon Art Kina 75 liter and KA 4.2 Kamikaze. In the final the wind and waves picked up, allowing the finalists to pull out some amazing moves, and after a close battle Omar was awarded 2nd place.
This is a great step towards his goal of becoming the best Canary Islands’ rider on the PWA World Tour, and making the top ten of the World Tour!
Omar has been riding Carbon Art boards since late 2016 and the partnership is clearly working well. Check out his awesome style on his Facebook page pics and videos, and Instagram, and on the Carbon Art website.
