Report by :Tobias Hed
The Swedish speed championship was held during the 3-4 October. The predicted forecast was spot on with a lot of winds, rain and cold for the season both days. About 40 competitors registered for the event despite the rainy and cold conditions. The first day we managed to complete 5 heat in 20-30 knots wind, every heat lasted for about 30-45 minutes so it wasn’t hard to fall asleep in the evening. During the late afternoon the wind picked up and the water level, unfortunately, raised rather dramatically which should made the second day very challenging. After the first day Daniel Borgelind was in first place with Marcus Richardson in second and myself in third – all of us on Carbon Art speed boards.

The second day that was indeed windier and the weather improved slightly (it didn’t poor down the whole time). We completed 3 heats in rough conditions with no optimal speed conditions, despite this some good results were made from the competitors. All in all we managed to complete 8 heats during the event which also was the last competition in the Swedish speed cup 2010. The Swedish speed championship also turned out to be a huge success for Carbon Art boards with 7 riders in the top 9 spots.
