One of our main projects over the last six months has been researching, testing and developing our new wave boards to establish what we could improve. The most complex part has been finding the right weather conditions; the season to date has been well below average here in Taranaki, New Zealand â where most of our R&D is carried out. Luckily we have had a few really good down the line days since Christmas, we have recently completed tweaking our 2010 prototypes and have now confirmed the new production shapes â which are being built as we speak.
This years slalom national were held in Dunedin and once again blessed with perfect conditions, we had 3 days of racing â raced 28 heats and covered 300kâs in winds ranging from the bare minimum to 30kts. I competed with the Carbon Art SL55, SL58, SL66, Maui Sails 5.9, 6.6, 7.6 and C3 Fins ranging from 32 to 42 cm.
