There was lots of action at the 2011 DaKine Classic held June 18th at Kanaha Beach park…

For 27 years the Maui Race Series has been drawing Pro and Recreational sailors to their well run events. The DaKine Classic was the second of five events scheduled for the 2011 racing season. Carbon Art riders were out in full force in the 20-25 m.p.h. trade winds. Tamara Bockius won the Open Women’s division with precision jibing and blazing starts.

Phil McGain dominated with a first in the Men’s 40-49 division and took home 2nd place in the Men’s Pro. Mike Yassick once again sailed to victory in the Mens 50-59 division. After racing, everyone enjoyed an Awards Beach party provided by DaKine.

If you ever find yourself on Maui during June or July, come join the fun at the Kanaha races!

Aloha, Tammy!
